Sewing
Roman Blinds

An interesting workshop that takes you step-by-step through the processes required to make a simple roman blind

If this is your first attempt, tutor Michelle suggests you choose a smaller window for your practice piece (the bigger the blind, the more time consuming the slip stitching is)

Michelle will guide you through the measuring; the marking out and cutting of your fabric using clear notes throughout which you will be given a copy of to take away

You will be shown how to create rod pockets and slip stitch lining to fabric; sew top and bottom hems; attach rings and thread

Please bring a usable sewing machine, a packed lunch and your fabric - if you require help with measuring before purchasing please give us a call - we are here to help

All the necessary sundries you require are available from The Workshop but if you prefer to bring your own please feel free. Apart from your fabric you need: matching thread, lining, top & bottom battens, plastic rings, screw rings, cord, rods and velcro

If this date doesn't suit you just give us a call and we'll see what we can do to accommodate you

Happy Blind Making!!

Finally got the bottom office cleared. Now have private space where I can lock myself away and paint (musn't let Ian get hold of the keys!)
