Introduction to Jelly Roll (Patchwork)

This spring why not come and learn how to do jelly roll patchwork? There are many ways to do this and on the day Michelle will show you three of the most common styles - Pandora's Box, Garden Trellis and Spiral Strips

Michelle will show you all the processes of jelly roll quilting using the rotary cutter and then sewing it all together at the end. You will also be given lots of handy hints and tips from our 'master seamstress'!

We do have one or two spare sewing machines but if you could bring your own on the day then so much the better. You will also need to bring your own jelly roll (we do have some but you probably want to buy your own to get the colour co-ordination right for your quilt)

You will also be given step-by-step notes at the end of the workshop for you to keep so that you can complete your quilt and make more of them in the future! Please bring a packed lunch with you on the day

Summer Holiday Bag

This summer come along and make yourself a versatile, multipurpose summer holiday bag! Be the envy of your friends, or better yet, make them one also for a gift. Suit your own style with your choice of materials, you could even match your favourite outfit!

The shoulder bag has an inside 'safe' pocket, ties and poppers to close securely and is a perfect size for magazines, books, nicknacks or even a beach towel - perfect for the summer!

During this full day workshop Michelle will show you step-by-step how to cut out a pattern from your fabric, piece together your bag, make linings and 3D corners, make the bag straps and also make bows, roses and decorations to adorn the finished article. Buckram to strengthen the base of the bag plus poppers are available to purchase on the day

You can either bring your own fabric - a half metre for the lining and trim and a half metre for the outer - or we have this bee fabric and yellow gingham available for purchase also. If you have your own sewing machine please bring this along although we do have some spare machines if not

You will be given step-by-step notes at the end of the workshop for you to keep so that you can go away and make more of these shoulder bags. They would make brilliant gifts for friends or family
